Adolph "Rudy" J. Pesicka, 82 of Wagner
Adolph Pesicka died Sunday, December 16, 2007 at the Good Samaritan Center in Wagner, SD. Funeral Mass will be 1 PM, Thursday, December 20, 2007 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Wagner. Burial is in the parish cemetery, rural Wagner, with military honors. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1 PM to 5 PM at the Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner followed by at 7 PM Rosary/Wake service at the church.

Adolph J. "Rudy" Pesicka was born March 19, 1925 at Wagner, South Dakota, the son of Joseph and Anna (Turnavec) Pesicka. He died Sunday, December 16, 2007 at the Good Samaritan Center in Wagner, SD. Rudy attained the age of 82 years, eight months and 27 days.

Rudy attended Wagner High School. He served in the US Navy during WWII.

Rudy married Norma Jean Zolnowsky on April 18, 1949 at Wagner, SD. Four children were born to their union. He worked for the SD State Highway Department for over 30 years, retiring in March of 1987.

Rudy was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Wagner. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion. Rudy was also a former member of the Wagner Fire Department.

Rudy will be remembered for his love of gardening and playing baseball in his younger years.

Thankful for having shared his life are his three sons: Dan and wife Donna Pesicka of Rapid City; Jim Pesicka of Yankton; Rich Pesicka of Wagner; a daughter, Debbie Holmstrom of Willow Lake; four grandchildren: Nikki (Rob) Dyzcek; Gene Pesicka; Sara Holmstrom and }1 Amy Holmstrom; three great grandchildren: Tamara Dyzcek; Aric Dyzcek and Darian Pesicka; and one sister, Genevieve Clarke of Los Angeles, CA.

Rudy was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Norma Jean on July 27, 1977; son-in-law, Oren Holmstrom; three sisters and five brothers.
