Agnes J. Krcil, 90 of Dante

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 25, 2016 at the Assumption Catholic Church in Dante, with Father Richard Baumberger as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, rural Dante. Rosary and Visitation will be 6:30 Thursday at the church, with the family present.

Agnes J. Krcil, one of eight children born to Martin and Frances (Pesicka) Kubal, was born May 21, 1926 on the family farm near Tabor, SD. She passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Society in Tyndall. Agnes attained the age of 90 years, six months and three days.

Agnes attend Wilson Country School #59 in rural Tabor through the eighth grade and graduated from Tyndall High School in 1944. She then attended Southern Normal in Springfield where she completed a 12 week course and earned her teaching certificate. Agnes taught for one year at the Rouse Country School, south of Dante.

Agnes married Joseph H. Krcil on June 17, 1946 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Tabor. They lived and farmed four miles south of Dante, until retiring in 1994 and moving into Avon. Joe died October 24, 2002.

Agnes was a member of the Assumption BVM Catholic Church and St. Mary's Altar Society.

Agnes will be remembered as a sweet soul who worked very hard. She enjoyed gardening, baking, listening and dancing to Polka music, and spoiling her grandchildren. Agnes will long be remembered for her love of family history and compiling it into books for others.

Thankful for having shared her life are her daughter, Marcella Bares and husband, Leonard of Dante; two sons: Lawrence "Luke" of Florida and Donald and wife Marilee of Dante; daughter-in-law, Susan Krcil of White Hall, MT; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and one on the way; two great-great grandchildren; two brothers: Martin and wife Corrine of Scotland and Bernard and wife Phyllis of Yankton; one sister, Marcella Kudrna and husband John of Yankton; and many relatives.

Agnes was preceded in death by her husband; son, Martin in 1979; daughter, Eileen in 1959; parents; one brother, George; and three sisters: Frances Kotalik, Margaret Mazourek and Patricia Cacek.
