Alvina A. Krcil, 91 of Wagner
Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the Assumption Catholic Church in Dante, with burial in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, rural Dante. Visitation will be held 11a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner, followed by a 7:00 p.m. Rosary/Wake at the church.
Alvina Anna Krcil was born October 24, 1920 at Dante, South Dakota, the daughter of John and Caroline (Binder) Kocmich. She died Sunday, February 26, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Society in Wagner. Alvina attained the age of 91 years, four months and two days.
Alvina was born and raised on the farm and attended rural school through the eighth grade at Lone Tree #1.
Alvina was united in marriage to George Krcil on July 29, 1941 at the Assumption Catholic Church in Dante. Together they farmed for 40 years, retiring in 1981.
Alvina was a member of St. Mary's Altar Society and the Assumption Catholic Church.
Alvina will be remembered for her love of gardening, playing cards, baking, cooking, reading. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Thankful for having shared her life are her five children: Florence Krcil of Yankton; Chester and wife Karen Krcil of Claysville, PA; Michael and wife Carol Krcil of Pinedale, WY; Pat and wife Cindy Krcil of Dante, SD; and Jaqueline and husband Mike Murphy of Stuart, NE; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; three sisters: Hattie Pudwill, Dorothy Pudwill and Mildred Roth, all of Avon; and sister-in-law, Leona Kocmich of Wagner.
Alvina was preceded in death by her husband, George on May 25, 1992; infant son, Franklin; parents; two sisters: Laura Streeter and Adeline Garcia; and three brothers: Edward, John C. and infant brother, Felix Kocmich.
