Anthony Efta, 92, of Wagner

Public visitation will be Saturday from 2 to 4 PM at the American Legion Hall in Wagner. Following his visitation he will be cremated and burial will take place at a later date in St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Wagner. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner is in charge of arrangements.

Anthony Thomas Efta was born in Nashua, MT on December 14, 1928, the son of James and Lillian (Wagner) Efta. He died Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Society in Wagner.

Tony attended school through the eighth grade. He served in the US Army during the Korean War, serving in Panama.

Tony married Velma J. Woods in December of 1954. He worked as a mechanic for Dick Hinkhouse in Wagner before moving to Seattle, WA where he worked as a jig builder for Boeing. He then worked on the Alaskan Pipeline as a cook and moved back to Wagner in the early 1970's, where he worked in maintenance for the Army Corps of Engineers. He later met Lona Holzbauer and they enjoyed many years together. He died exactly one year to the day that Lona died.

Tony was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.

Tony will be remembered for his love of woodworking, card playing, and working as an auto mechanic, carpenter, electrician and plumber.

Thankful for having shared his life are his three daughters: Katheryn (Richard) Zolnowsky of Wagner, Cynthia Efta of Florida, and Denise Efta and Jim Cuka of Wagner; 3 grandchildren: Adam, Michelle and James; 4 great grandfriends: Taylor, Marie, Louis and Kadin Zolnowsky; brother Leonard "Dutch" Efta of Alaska; 2 sisters: Louise Mika of Alaska and Joyce (Jerome) Sanders of Washington; and a horde of nieces and nephews.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Jeremy Haar, brothers: John, Valerian "Val", Joseph, Francis (FP) and Thomas Efta; sisters: Catherine Metteer, Mary Austrevich, Teresa in infancy, Rose Swigart, Janice Schoenfelder, and Joan Woods; and friend Lona Holzbauer.
