Azalea White Horse, 56, of Vermillion
Azalea died Sunday, December 17, 2017 at the Sanford Vermillion Hospital in Vermillion. Funeral services were 10 AM, Friday, December 22, 2017 at the Holy Spirit Episcopal Church in Wagner. Burial was in the Holy Fellowship Episcopal Cemetery, rural Greenwood. Wake services were Thursday at the church. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.
Azalea was born October 2, 1961 and died December 17, 2017. She was born in Fort Yates, ND, the daughter of Charles and Ella Jane (Gabe) Baker. Azalea came from a large family. She attended school at Wakpala, SD.
Azalea and Richard were united in marriage on January 24, 1990. They were married for 27 years.
Azalea is the mother of three children: Joanie (Ken) of Aberdeen, SD, Stacey (Angel) of Vermillion and Allen (Cody) of Sisseton, SD. She always made you smile and laugh with her stories and teasing. She loved to cook, bake, listen to the radio, play cards, and visit. She also loved getting up early in the morning and drinking coffee. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her grandchildren, they were the world to her.
Thankful for having shared her life are her husband Richard, children: Joane, one grandchild; Stacey, two grandchildren; and Al, three grandchildren; siblings: Patrick, Francis, Lyle and Francine; step sisters, Michelle and Connie; and many relatives in Wakpala, SD.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.
