Blossom M. Hubbeling, 90, Lake Andes

Funeral services are 10 AM, Friday, January 6, 2023 at the Holy Spirit Episcopal Church in Wagner. Wake services will be 7 PM, Thursday at the church. Inurnment will be at a later date in St. Paul's Catholic Cemetery in Marty.

Blossom Mae (Brownbear) Hubbeling was born May 24, 1932 to John and Alma (Rouse) Brownbear at home in Rural Marty, SD. She was taken to the Wagner Community Hospital on Friday, December 30, 2022 where she died peacefully.

Blossom attended the country school by their home north of Marty. She married Duane Hubbeling in 1959 and was married to Duane until his death in 1964. To this union, one child, Russell, was born.

Blossom held various jobs in Wagner as a housekeeper. Blossom met Leo O'Connor in 1969. Blossom and Leo were together from 1969 until his death on August 10, 2022. Blossom and he were both residents of the Good Samaritan Society in Wagner. She moved to the Lake Andes Senior Living Center after the fire at the Good Samaritan Society in Wagner. Blossom was the sole survivor of eight sisters and one brother.

Blossom is survived by son Russell Hubbeling of Lake Andes, one granddaughter, one grandson, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Blossom was preceded in death by her lifelong mate, Leo O'Connor; her eight sisters, one brother, and her parents.
