Byron Kalmbach, 74, of Springfield
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at St. VIncent Catholic Church in Springfield. Burial is in the parish cemetery, rural Springfield, with Military Honors. Visitation will be the hour prior to services at the church. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of arrangements.
Byron Gary Kalmbach was born December 2, 1942 at Belle Fourche, South Dakota, the son of Jacob and Mollie (Greenwaldt) Kalmbach. He died Friday, August 4, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Society in Tyndall.
Byron graduated from Belle Fourche High School. He served in the SD National Guard.
Byron married Jean Schneider and three children were born to their union. He later married Margie (Kast) Cumpton. He worked at CR Industries in Springfield for 25 years.
Byron was a member of St. Vincent Catholic Church in Springfield.
Byron will be remembered for his love of attending the activities of his grandchildren, camping, working on the computer, and stamp and coin collecting.
Thankful for having shared his life are his wife Margie of Springfield; three children: Robert (Marisa) Kalmbach of Huron, William Kalmbach of Bellevue, NE, Lori (Dean Zwanziger) Kalmbach of Tyndall; stepdaughter Kim (Brian) Ludens of Volga; 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Byron was preceded in death by his parents, and sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Ron Claughton.
