Carol Rysavy, 69, of Wagner
Carol died unexpectedly at her home on Friday July 27, 2012. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at St John Catholic Church in Wagner. Burial is in St John Catholic Cemetery, rural Wagner. Visitation is from 2 to 5 PM Monday, at the Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner. Rosary/Wake services are 7:30 PM, Monday at the church.
Carol Ann Rysavy was born September 2, 1942 at Sauk Centre, MN, the daughter of William and Freda (Metzger) Eggers. She died unexpectedly at her home on Friday, July 27, 2012. Carol attained the age of 69 years, 10 months and 25 days.
Carol's family moved to Corsica and she attended a country school east of Corsica and graduated from Corsica High School in 1960. She then attended Stewart's School of Hairstyling in Sioux Falls. She worked in Yankton until she met Joe "Chub" Rysavy Jr.
Carol and Joe were united in marriage on July 13, 1964 in Luverne, MN. They made their home on a farm south of Wagner, where they lived until her death. Together they farmed for many years. She also worked at various jobs, including the Good Samaritan Society in Wagner, retiring in 2006.
Carol had a passion for reading and for spending time with her grandkids and attending their events. She also loved collecting bells and salt and pepper shakers.
Thankful for having shared her life are her husband, Joe Rysavy, Jr. of Wagner; two sons: Randy and wife Julie of Wagner and Russ and wife Pam Rysavy of Rapid City; five grandchildren: Kyle Schnider of Sioux Falls; John Rysavy of Lincoln, NE; Monte Rysavy of Wagner; and Gabby and Jayda Rysavy of Rapid City; one great granddaughter, Elsie Schnider; and four brothers and sisters: Myron and wife Joan Eggers of Custer; Esther and husband Bob Henry of Newcastle, WY; Kay and Dick Parker of Ft. Pierre; and Bob Eggers of Corsica.
Carol was preceded in death by an infant daughter; parents; mother and father-in-law: Joe Sr. and Dorothy Rysavy; a sister, Marjorie Eggers and sister-in-law, Noreen Eggers.
