Cathy Gasper, 71, of Lake Andes

Funeral services are 10 AM, Monday, August 10, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Andes. Burial is in Lakeview Cemetery, Lake Andes. Wake services will begin at 7 PM, Sunday at the Cedar Presbyterian Church, rural Pickstown. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner is in charge of arrangements.

Catherine Theresa Gasper entered into eternal rest August 7, 2009 surrounded by loved ones at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, after a long battle with cancer.

Cathy was born May 31, 1938, the daughter of Thomas and Agnes (Kitteau) Chytka on the family homestead. She married Donald Gasper on December 15, 1956 in Wagner, SD. Three children were born to this union: Denise Lavonne, Renae Lyn and Todd Joseph.

Cathy enjoyed spending time with family, cruising, Bingo, cooking and most of all spoiling her great grandsons.

Thankful for having shared her life are her husband Donald of Lake Andes, her children: Denise (John) Brooks, Renae (Chico) Peters and Todd Gasper, all of Lake Andes; granddaughters: Johna (Frank) Kern, Leah (Chad), Katrina (Kevin) Candy (Elliot); three beloved great grandsons: Hunter Michael Loeffler, Markus Carl Talley, Isaiah Joseph Milk; brothers, Ellsworth Chytka and Linsey Nelson, both of Lake Andes; special granddaughter Theresa Schacht and grandson Ian Long; and many relatives and friends.

Cathy is joined in eternal life by her parents, sister Emma Ann, her baby brother and other relatives and friends.
