Charles Boettcher, 58, of Lake Andes

Funeral services are 10:00  AM, Friday, January 18, 2025 at the White Swan Community Center in Lake Andes. Wake services will be 7 PM, Thursday at the community center. A Celebration of Charlie's Life will also be held at a later date in Sioux City, IA.

Charlie "Bad Boy" Boettcher passed away Monday, January 13, 2025 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA at the age of 58.

Charlie is the son of Beatrice Gray Boettcher and David Boettcher, Sr. and was born June 18, 1966 in Wagner, SD. He was known for his passion for boxing. He started his boxing career at the riverside Junior Boxing Club and later continued his training at the Engle's Gym in South Sioux City, NE.

Some of his accomplishments: he was named the Sooland Smoker Champ in 1982, he qualified for the American Boxing Federation national tournament at the United States Olympics Training Center in Colorado and then went onto win the 175 lb title in the ABF in Marshalltown, IA. She later won the Norfolk Golden Glove in 1991. Charlie also loved chicken nuggets.

Charlie is survived by his children: Bailey (Tori) Boettcher, Brylie (Calvin) Ferris, Riley Houseman and Bentley Boettcher; his parents, David Boettcher, Sr. and Faith Boettcher; siblings: David Boettcher, Jr. (Leah Siljenberg), Rodney Boettcher, Dawn Boettcher Watkins, Norma Gray, and Bridgette Boettcher; his favorite aunt Stephanie Cournoyer; his grandchildren: Veronica Boettcher and Meier Ferris; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and a beloved friend and mentor, Darrell Prevail and many more friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother Beatrice (Pin) Gray Boettcher; son Chase Houseman; aunts and uncle: Dean, Dette (Kota) Rita and John; and nephews: Brandon Gray Rainbow and Myron Rainbow.
