Charles Einrem, 76 of Springfield

A memorial visitation will be held Monday, November 19th from 3 to 5 pm at the Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Springfield, with the family present. There will be no memorial service. A private family inurnment service will be held Tuesday.

Charles D. Einrem was born in rural Springfield, SD on April 10, 1936, the son of Carl and Grace (Dykstra) Einrem. He died Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the Sister James Nursing Home in Yankton. Charles attained the age of 76 years, 7 months and 5 days.

Charles attended rural school at the Hornstra and Running Water schools.

Charles was united in marriage to Jean Anderson in Tyndall on August 9, 1957. Four kids were born to this union. He later married Linda Wren. He was blessed to have a very special friend, Betty Klatt, for the past 18 years.

Charles farmed near Running Water for a few years. He worked for Bon Homme County from 1967 to 1975. Charles continued to work various construction jobs until he retired.

Charles will be remembered for his enjoyment of fishing, playing cards, bird watching and his love of dogs. He was a storyteller and loved to visit with people.

Thankful for having shared his life are his four children: Mike (Lisa) Einrem of Avon; Tim (Sandy) Einrem of Springfield; Joleen Einrem and Rick Stark of Yankton; and John Einrem of Springfield; five grandchildren: Casey (Jen) Einrem; Maggie Einrem and Corey Aas; Marshall (Meagan) Einrem; Jed Einrem; and Robbi (Taylor) Edwards; four great grandchildren: Gracie, Jasmin, Maddie and Cooper; two sisters: Marcleen Wynia of Springfield; Marylou (Ray) Livingson of Yankton; and very special friend, Betty Klatt of Springfield.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Wayne Krisl; and brother-in-law, Gerben Wynia.
