Charles Selwyn, Sr., 29, of Lake Andes
Wake services will begin Thursday at the White Swan Community Center in Lake Andes. Graveside funeral services are 10 AM, Saturday, July 9, 2022 at the Native American Church Cemetery, rural Wagner.
Charles Louis Selwyn, Sr. "Chuck" was born November 17, 1992 in Yankton, SD at 07:22 AM to Shelbourne Selwyn and Jodi Dion. He died Tuesday, July 5, 2022 near Pickstown, the result of an automobile accident.
They made their home in Lake Andes, where they also raised Tayah Marie Selwyn (28) and Anna Marie Selwyn (26). He also had two other siblings: Wakiyan "John Luke" Lesley (28) and Philomene (Paula) Honomichl (24).
Chuck attended Andes Central School where he enjoyed playing football. He also attended Circle of Nations Boarding School in North Dakota. He played little league baseball on his uncle Terry Bruguier's little LA Warrior team. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, attending powwows and sundances. He loved spending time with all his family and his nature walks.
In 2003, Chuck met Wakinyan Selwyn (Gonzalez). They resided in Marty, South Dakota, where had worked at the hog farm for two years and S&K Trucking for three years. Chuck and Wakinyan were married on December 12th, 2014. They have four children: Charles Louis Selwyn Jr. (7), Juanita Marie Selwyn (5), Gregory Shane Selwyn (3), and Julia'Ann Mae Selwyn (1).
Chuck was such a loving and caring father, husband, son, nephew, grandson, and cousin. He was always willing to help when needed. He always had a smile on his face. Chuck was a hard worker and an outgoing person.
