Cherie Chafin Jordan, 61, of Wagner
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the Holy Spirit Episcopal Church in Wagner.
Cherie Chafin Jordan was born March 5, 1956 at Alliance, NE, the daughter of Floyd and Violet (Ball) Thompson. Cherie died Monday, October 9, 2017 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.
Cherie attended school in Mitchell and Alexandria, SD. She married Bill Chafin and a son, Jack was born. She later married Rex Jordan and had sons Rex and Luke. She spent the past 28 years of her life with Joe Babcock. Before they moved to Wagner in 1992, she worked laying track for the railroad, driving delivery trucks, working as a nurse's aide at the State Hospital and also worked in the timber industry. She struggled from complications of Rheumatoid Arthritis for the past 30 years.
Cherie was a member of the NRA. She enjoyed playing poker on the computer and chatting on Facebook. Cherie loved animals and raising her chickens, goats, sheep and ducks. She had a special place in her heart for her dogs. Those who knew Cherie well knew what a special person she was.
Thankful for having shared her life are her significant other, Joe Babcock of Wagner, three sons: Jack of Wagner, Rex Jr of Richmond, IN, and Luke of Gillette, WY; 16 grandchildren; a brother, Joe of Rockford, IL; and four sisters: Gloria, Charlotte and Cindy, all of Rockford, IL and Doreen of Custer, SD.
Cherie was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Randy and Floyd.
