Clarence W. Uherka, 83 of Wagner
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 6, 2015 at the Assumption Catholic Church in Dante, with burial in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, rural Dante. Visitation will be at the Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, followed by a 7:00 p.m. Rosary/Wake service at the church.
Clarence William Uherka, son of William and Frances (Kolda) Uherka, was born October 4, 1931 at Wagner, SD. He died Tuesday, February 2, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Armour. Clarence attained the age of 83 years and four months.
Clarence attended Choteau Creek Country School through the eighth grade and then graduated from Wagner High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force from December 18, 1951 to December 1, 1955.
After his service to his Country, Clarence married Margaret Cihak on August 13, 1956 at the Assumption Catholic Church in Dante. Two sons were blessed to their union.
Clarence began his farming career with his Dad and continued to farm with his sons until retiring in 2006. At that time, he sold it to his sons and continued to "help out" as much as he could. Clarence will be remembered for being a simple man who loved to farm, garden and simply be outside.
Clarence was a member of the Assumption Catholic Church in Dante and the VFW Post #7319 in Wagner.
Thankful for having shared his life are his wife of 58 years, Margaret; his sons: Larry and Rick, all of rural Wagner; his sister Judy Kaldun and husband Roland of Yankton; niece Wendy White and her husband Eric and their four children; many relatives and friends; and his dog, Duke.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents.
