Rosary/Wake services are 7 PM, Friday at the Assumption Catholic Church in Dante. Visitations will be the hour prior to wake and prior to funeral. Clayton Axel Kotab was born April 16, 2012 to Ericka and David Kotab and was the little brother of a very proud boy named Radek William Kotab. Clayton was so anxious to come into this world to share his joy with all that he came early on the way to the hospital in Mitchell, South Dakota as a vibrant healthy boy. He got his first name and part of his kind nature from extended family member Clayton Rados and received his middle name from his Great-Grandfather Axel Erickson from whom he received great strength.

Clayton had an intense affection for his mother, but also loved to have major wrestle-mania with his dad and brother when his mom was willing to share him. Radek and Clayton shared a special bond. Each night Radek was sure to give sleeping Clayton a gentle good-night kiss and Clayton enjoyed waking Radek with a big open-mouth good-morning kiss. Clayton will be remembered for his ability to light up a room with his bright blue eyes and spirit of joy and happiness. Clayton's sweet and gentle nature left a mark on those who were lucky enough to spend time with him.

Clayton lost a short but hard fought battle with cancer on May 8, 2013 at the Sanford Children's Hospital in Sioux Falls. While Clayton's time with us was short, he lived a full and beautiful life of bringing happiness to each and every person with whom he came into contact.

Thankful to have shared in Clayton's life are his parents; his grandparents, Donald and Dolores Kotab of Dante, South Dakota and Jill Frei of Wagner, South Dakota. Also thankful to have shared in his life were countless relatives and friends.

Clayton was preceded in death by his grandfather Robert L. Frei of Wagner, South Dakota.
