Clinton Ellis was born April 14, 1941 in Dickinson County, Iowa to Calvin and Nina (Hoepner) Ellis. He died Saturday, November 8, 2025 at the Good Samaritan Society in Tyndall, at the age of 84.
Growing up as a young boy, Clint worked at the historic Arnolds Park Amusement Park in the Lake Okoboji area, working on and running the rides.
After his father passed away he and his brother Clayton and mother moved to the Springfield, SD area.
On October 14, 1958 at the age of 17, Clint joined the US Army. During his time he was stationed in Germany and he was discharged in 1961.
He then married Sandra Bahmuller from Springfield, SD on September 3, 1961 in Dillion, SC. From there they moved to Boulder, CO where Clint worked for a printing business running the printers. Later he opened Clint’s Cycle Center INC. in Boulder where he repaired and sold motorcycles. He also started racing dirt bikes as a hobby. In the late 70’s he sold his motorcycle business and moved back to South Dakota. They bought a farm south of Tyndall and started farming, raising corn, beans, cattle, and hogs. He later found out he missed being a salesman, so in his spare time from farming he started selling cars, working for Tyndall Motors in Tyndall.
Clint retired from farming and being a salesman around 2002. He and his wife Sandi started camping and fishing to enjoy life. Later in life they started spending their winters in Mesa, AZ. The last few winters they stayed home in SD, because they missed the snow.
He was preceded in death by his parents and step-father, and also his brother Clayton.
Clint is survived by a niece and nephew and a few cousins.
