Cornelius J. Kiyukan, 61, of Lake Andes
Cornelius died Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at the VA Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Funeral services are 2 PM, Friday, April 6, 2012 at the White Swan Community Center in Lake Andes. Burial is in St. Phillips Episcopal Cemetery, Lake Andes, with military honors. Wake services will begin at the Community Center on Wednesday.
Cornelius Jesse (Provost) Kiyukan was born on April 19, 1950 at Wagner, South Dakota, in the I.H.S. to Charity Kiyukan and Ernest Provost. Cornelius left this world on April 3, 2012 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the Veteran's Administration Hospital. Cornelius spent most of his life in Lake Andes, South Dakota.
Cornelius enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 and served in the Vietnam War.
Cornelius has six brothers (Lawrence, Terry, Purcell, Harold, Jerry and Andy) and four sisters (Eunice, Vera, Thelma and Diane); and his hunka brother, Roy Wade Sr. Cornelius had four daughters (Jacqueline, Veronica, Colleen and Brittney) and three sons (Cornelius Jr., Carl and Greg) and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Cornelius enjoyed fishing, watching boxing, video lottery and visiting with friends and family.
Cornelius is preceded in death by his mother, father, children (Jacqueline, Cornelius Jr. and Colleen), brother (Jerry), sister (Thelma), grandsons (Gavin and Michael); and long time girlfriend, Judy.
