Dale Eugene Hall, age 81, of Wagner, died Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at the Avera Sacred Heart Hospital, Yankton, SD. A memorial service in his honor will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 19 at the East Lake Andes Lutheran Church, Wagner, SD with the Rev Jordan Andreasen officiating. Inurnment will be at the East Lake Andes Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Dale was born on August 9, 1935, in Wagner, SD to Cassius and Esther Hall of Ravinia. He attended Ravinia Public School.

On August 27, 1956, Dale married Marcia Pranger in Sioux Falls. They were married for 58 years and their lives were enriched with three sons, Mike, Steve and Jeff.

Dale attended Huron College, Huron, SD where he started four years for the Huron College basketball team and later was inducted into the Huron College Hall of Fame. He went on to teach and coach in Geddes, Kimball, Deadwood, and Brandon Valley before he took the position of Middle School and High School principal at Wagner School and then became Superintendent for 19 years. He retired on July 30, 1993. He was very proud of his accomplishments at Wagner School and put the foundation in place to make it the school it is today. He was a respected educator of young people, which he did with great achievement.

He recently was inducted into the South Dakota High School Basketball Hall of Fame which was a huge highlight of his career.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Wagner, member of NEA (National Education Association, SDEA (South Dakota Education Association), and Wagner Rotary. He was a Ravinia Alumni and was instrumental in the Ravinia School Memorial - 1917-1967. His love for the farm made him a gentleman farmer and rancher.

Grateful for having shared his life are his three sons, Mike (Barb) of Huron; Steve (Gail Shofer) of Cumberland, MD; Jeff (Michele) of Woodstock, GA ; 8 grandchildren; Amy, Nichole (Tim) Wenz, and Eric of Huron; Jessica (Jered) Matzke of Omaha, NE; Brittney of San Diego, CA, Kyle of Lincoln, NE; Autumn Taylor of Cumberland, MD and Amy Meyers of Point Pleasant, West Virginia; 7 great grandchildren; Trace, Tryan and Trustin Wenz; George and Kaliya Taylor; Antonio Portland, and Tristan Kinniard; two brothers, Neil (Doris) of Corsica; Derol of Wagner, sister-in-law, Darlene (Bruce) Bakken of Platte; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Marcia on December 15, 2014, his parents; brother, Verle; and sister-in-law, Gail Hall.
