Darlene Weisser, 78, of Wagner
Funeral services are 1:30 PM, Saturday, December 15, 2012 at St. John Lutheran Church in Wagner. Burial is in the ZCBJ Cemetery, rural Wagner. Visitation is at the church on Friday from 4 to 7 PM, followed by a 7 PM Prayer Service. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner is in charge of arrangements.
Darlene Gladys Weisser was born August 30, 1934 on a farm south of Delmont, SD in Charles Mix County. She was the daughter of Emil and Katharina (Tesky) Permann. She died Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Society in Wagner. Darlene attained the age of 78 years, three months and 12 days.
Darlene attended school through the eighth grade. She was baptized and confirmed at the New Salem Reformed Church in rural Delmont.
Darlene married Harvey Weisser on November 17, 1957 at the Frieden's Reformed Church in Tripp.
Darlene was a wife, mom and grandma. She was very good cook and specialized in German foods. Darlene was the "Avon Lady" for 35 years, achieving many awards and President's Club status.
Darlene was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, the Wagner Hospital Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary.
Darlene will be remembered for her love of Polka music.
Thankful for having shared her life are her five children: Gail (Alan "Cork") Livingston, Yankton; Brian (Tammy) Weisser, Wagner; Gregg (Lisa) Weisser, Wagner; Melissa "Missy" (Shane) Odens, Armour; Shane Weisser and fiancee' Jeannie Loneman, Mitchell; seven grandchildren: Lindsay (Mark) Murphy, Jessica Livingston, Christopher Weisser, Danielle Weisser, Mason Weisser, Bryce Weisser, Bridget Weisser; one great grandchild, Irelyn Murphy; sister, Velda Peters of Wagner; and many nieces and nephews.
Darlene was preceded in death by her husband Harvey, on October 7, 2010; parents; four brothers: Gilbert, Arben, Willard and Harold; two sisters: Lorraine Schwaderer and Alice Stolz.
