Darrel Ray Hollingsworth, 53, of Wagner

Darrel Ray Hollingsworth was born April 9, 1967 to David and Anita (Sheffield) Hollingsworth in San Mateo, CA. He joined brother David Hollingsworth and sister Jean Ann Hollingsworth. Darrel completed the family.

Darrel attended his school years in California where he later met his best friend and first love Karla Ann Nissen. They married February of 1991. They made their home in Redwood City until relocating to Sioux Falls, SD in 1994. To this union one son was born Paul Michael Hollingsworth. Karla later passed away in December of 2011.

Darrel was known for his mechanical and drywall skills as well as loved to race, fish and collect fast cars. Darrel was always willing to lend a helping hand (his daughter-in-law called him the Energizer bunny). His smile and humor would light up the room.

Darrel's first grandson was born in 2018 and he was there to help save his life by helping doctors diagnose Gideon's health issues which were the same as his. Later that year in August Darrel married his best friend and also the love of his life Vivian Raymond and resided in Wagner. To this union he gained a son Collin, daughter Ashlee, granddaughter Cobain and grandson Zahkai Raymond. Later that month his son Paul also married the love of his life Khrystyne Cressy. Darrel inherited 3 granddaughters from this union Nevaeh Cressy, Jennifer and Jacqueline Dummer.

Darrel passed away on February 12th, 2021 at his home in Wagner at the age of 53.

He is preceded in death by his parents David (Anita) Hollingsworth, his mother and father-in-law, and one granddaughter Brielle Karla Hollingsworth and special friend Karla Ann Hollingsworth.

He is survived by his wife of 2 years Vivian Raymond Hollingsworth, sons Paul (Khrystyne) Hollingsworth of Sioux Falls, Collin Raymond of Wagner, daughter Ashlee Baker of San Antonio, TX, brothers David (Kim) Hollingsworth of Barstow CA, Gayle Raymond of Springfield, SD, Jon Raymond of Lake Andes, SD, Ted (Michelle) Raymond of Sauk Village, IL, Tod Raymond of Shakopee, MN, Chris Hart of Rapid City, SD, Brian Hart of Minneapolis, MN, Baraquiel Carpio of Lake Andes, SD. Sisters Jean Ann Hollingsworth, Jean (Brian) Flanagan of Sioux Falls, SD, Ami Raymond of St. Peters, MN and Bo Raymond of Sioux Falls, SD. Last but not least the pride and joys of his life his 4 granddaughters and 2 grandsons.
