Darrel McBride Jr., 48, of Wagner
Darrel died Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner. Wake services began Wednesday at the National Guard Armory in Wagner. Funeral services are 11 AM, Friday, August 27, 2021 at the Armory. Burial is in the Holy Name Episcopal Cemetery (Choteau Creek), rural Dante.
Darrell DeWayne Mcbride, Jr. "Wakiyan Cant'te" was born to Darrel DeWayne McBride, Sr. and Linda Marie Honomichl-McBride at the PHS in Wagner, SD. He died Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner.
Peanuts had only one son, Devin Ray McBride, whom he loved dearly, as well as all his other nieces and nephews, cousins, many uncles, aunts, grandmas and grandpas.
Peanuts attended the Wagner Community School, then transferred to Marty Indian School. In his senior year, he was elected Prom King and graduated the same year, in 1993.
His dad was an awesome auto mechanic and he made Peanuts get out there and help him fix cars on the reservation so as to teach him some of his trade. Peanuts worked at various jobs and was an all around good worker. He always loved helping out where he could.
One of Peanut's greatest passions was working for the Fort Randall Casino Entertainment Department, where through his genuine kindness and love for meeting people, the entertainers/band members whom he made life long friends with from all around the country as well as here at home as he was always a real gentleman with a warm, kind, caring, loving and gentle heart. Peanuts had the "best hugs" and "I love you's" for all that he loved, as that's the kind of person he was.
Peanuts was a simple man, he enjoyed teasing and joking and was always smiling. He showed his love to everyone that crossed his path leaving a BIG imprint on everyone that he met in his life.
In 2000, Peanuts met the love of his life, Ronda Lynn Hare, whom he made everyone know that she was his "Hun Bunz", they carried a special bond right to the end.
Darrell is survived by his mother Linda Marie Honomichl-McBride; three sisters: Barbara Allen McBride, Wanda "DeeDee" Marie McBride and Pearline Elaine McBride; and one brother, Loren Joseph Jones.
Preceding him in death to the the spirit world is his beloved father Darrell Dewayne McBride, Sr.; his beloved little brother Brent Dean "Pa'Ska" McBride; his two "Deksi" uncles: Michael Gerald Honomichl and Larry Vincent Honomichl. Peanuts will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
