David Leroy, 83 of Lake Andes

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Marty. Burial will be in the parish cemetery with military honors. Wake Services will be held Monday and Tuesday at the South Housing Gymnasium in Wagner. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home of Wagner is in charge of the arrangements.

David died Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the Lake Andes Healthcare Center in Lake Andes, SD.

David Douglas LeRoy, born November 13, 1933 in Niobrara, NE. Uncle/Grandpa Dave will be welcomed in to the Spirit World by his parents Grover LeRoy and Ethel Medicine Horn-Selwyn, four brothers: Grover LeRoy Jr., Curtis LeRoy, Gerald LeRoy, and Richard Alan "Ricky" LeRoy Sr.; and two sisters: Lavonna LeRoy and Mary ROse LeRoy. He is survived by his youngest sister, Cheryl Ann Selwyn.

Uncle/Grandpa Dave attended St. Paul's Catholic Church Mission in Marty, SD for 12 years. After leaving Marty, he enlisted in the United States Army. Her served from 1954 to 1957 as a Spec. 3rd Class/Radio Operator. He was honorably discharged from the Scholfield Barracks, Hawaii.

When the Ft. Randall Casino opened in 1991, Dave began work as a porter and continued to work a total of 21 years. He retired at the age of 78. After retiring he enjoyed being with family, listening to country music and watching old western flicks.

Dave was a very generous and caring man. He raised his nieces Jean, Cyndi, Renae and Wanda LeRoy, and two nephews: Robert and Scott LeRoy; and two grandchildren: William "Billy Joe" and Gisele LeRoy as his own.

One of Dave's favorite sayings when asked why, was "because I'm cute".

Dave will be missed dearly by his sister, many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
