Obituary
David Leon Red Owl was born May 17, 1994 to David Red Owl, Sr. and Jolynn McBride in Yankton, SD. He died November 21, 2015 in Mitchell, SD.
David resided in Wagner, SD with his mother and siblings. He attended elementary school here in his hometown and later made his appearance for middle and high school in Mitchell and Sioux Falls.
He was an all around athlete but excelled in baseball and cross country. David was a very outgoing and respectful young man who could always be seen with a smile on his face.
In 2013, Lydia LeRoy and her son Mato came into his life. They later added into their family, David Leon Red Owl III on July 8, 2014 and are expecting their second child in March.
He leaves to mourn his mother, Jolynn McBride of Wagner; sisters: Markita of Lake Andes, Carleena of Mitchell, LeThrese of Lake Andes, Tanisha of Pickstown and Samantha of Mitchell; five nieces and five nephews: Jayden, Amaya, DaRon, Naaliyah, JoVohn, DeRiyah, DreVion, Avaya, Robert III and Ariel; his companion Lydia of Lake Andes; stepson Mato and son David Red Owl III.
David was preceded in death by his father, David Sr.; brother DeRon McBride; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Karlene McBride; paternal grandparents, Ada Red Owl, Lydia Red Owl and Wilson Fremont.
Services were held 10 AM, Wednesday, November 25 at the YST South Housing Gym. Burial was in the Holy Name Episcopal Cemetery, Choteau Creek.
