Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Marty. Burial will be in the ZCBJ Cemetery, rural Wagner with military honors. Wake Services will be held Monday and Tuesday at the South Housing Gym in Wagner. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner is in charge of the arrangements.

David L. Young, son of Charles Newton and Irene (McElroy) Young, was born September 30, 1937 in Wagner. He died Saturday, May 23, 2015 at the V. A. Hospital in Sioux Falls. David attained the age of 77 years, seven months and 24 days.
David attended Marty Mission High School and graduated from Wagner High School. He entered the U.S. Army on January 11, 1961 and was honorably discharged on February 12, 1962.

As a teenager, David worked with Klein Fun Shows during his summer vacations. He worked for Herman Morgan Masonry Company until suffering a stroke and became disabled at a young age. The last few years, David lived at the Grey Eagle Housing ?Apartments in Wagner.

David had a very positive attitude and was always very kind and generous. He shard what he had with anyone in need.

Thankful for having shared his life are his daughter, Georgine Young of Huron; three grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one brother Mark (Young) Chytka and his wife Darlene of Rapid City and their family.

David was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Eugene and Elgin Young; and one sister, Victoria Howard.
