Donald Cournoyer, 70, of Wagner

Donnie died Friday, September 6, 2024 at Wagner Community Memorial Hospital. Funeral Mass will be 10 AM, Monday, September 9, 2024 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Marty, SD. Burial will be in the St. Paul's Catholic Cemetery. Wake services will be 7:30 PM, Saturday, September 7 and 7 PM, Sunday, September 8 at St. Paul's Catholic Church.

Donald Cournoyer Sr. was born on November 1, 1953 in Wagner, SD. The 4th child of Stephen N. Cournoyer Sr. and Pearl A. (LaDeaux) Cournoyer. Donnie grew up at the Rising Hail Colony three miles west of Marty.

Donnie attended St. Paul's Indian Mission in Marty, SD. Throughout his life, he enjoyed farming with his family, hunting, working in carpentry, and even owned his own construction business. Donnie lived his life to the fullest. Donnie met Jackie Holiday, and through this union, they welcomed son's Trinity and John. He later met Clara Zephier, and through this union, they welcomed son, Donald Michael Jr. Donnie met and married LaVonne (Patterson) Cournoyer and welcomed Anthony, Donovan, and Samuel.

Donnie is survived by his wife LaVonne; children: Trinity, Donald Jr., Anthony, Donovan, and Samuel; siblings: Raymond, Thomas, Faith, Mark, Aggie, Gary, Jody, Vincent, Baptiste, and Gerald; and many grandchildren.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents Steve and Pearl; brothers: Steve Jr., Robert Sr., and Gregory Sr.; and son John.

Donnie was called home on Friday, September 6, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones.
