Donald LeRoy Namminga crossed over into the arms of Jesus on Friday, December 13, 2019 at Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls.
Don was born in Scotland, SD, to Andrew and Hattie (Wieten) Namminga on August 17, 1944. He attended Rueb Country School and graduated from Avon High School in 1962. Growing up on the farm near Avon he grew to love farming and especially working with animals. Don graduated from Southern State Teachers College and was a member of the Army National Guard.
Don married Beth Bultman on December 30, 1966, in Grant, Michigan. Together they, along with his brother Allen and wife June, farmed near Avon. Farming alongside with brother was one of Don's joys in life and considered it to be a true blessing. Don and Beth, in nearly 53 years of marriage were blessed with three children and 10 grandchildren.
Don made profession of his faith in Christ at Emmanuel Reformed Church, and was a faithful and committed member until his death. Don was a humble man and lived his faith daily. He had a soft spot in his heart for missions, and as a member of the Gideons, he was a promoter of giving and spreading God's Word. He was honored to serve God and his church as a deacon and elder. His family will remember him as one who would drop everything to help his neighbors and share what he could.
Don's family meant everything to him. He would pray for each one of them by name and enjoyed attending the children's and grandchildren's events. Don loved visiting friends and neighbors, as well as attending Bible Study. Don also had a love for travel and in his spare time enjoyed woodworking.
Don is survived by his wife Beth; children: David and wife Tammy of Sioux City, Iowa, Jeff and wife Crystal of Pella, Iowa, Mary Beth and husband Allan Driesen of Avon; his 10 grandchildren: Krista, Callie, Caleb, Kiara, Jasmine, Jaydon, Sydney, Addison, Treyton and Andrew; his brother Lambert and wife Mary of Muskegon, MI; sister-in-law June Namminga of Lynden, WA; sister-in-law Faye and husband Fred Folkema of Ensley Center, MI; sister-in-law Julie and husband Ron Baker of Wyoming, MI; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, brother Allen, parents-in-law and niece Susie.

Memorials will be given to the Gideons, one of Don's passions or you can give to a benevolent cause of your choice in his honor.
