Funeral services are 2 PM, Thursday, October 4, 2012 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Marty. Burial is in the church cemetery. Wake services are Wednesday at the National Guard Armory in Wagner.
Donalene (Deda) Rae Archambeau Orozco was born on July 26, 1955 to Raymond Sr. & Madonna (Fredrick) Archambeau. Deda entered the Spirit world on September 29, 2012 at Sanford Health Center in Sioux Falls, surrounded by a loving family and close friends.
Deda grew up on the river bottom near Greenwood, she had many wonderful memories of that area and it was always where her heart was. She attended Marty Indian School and graduated in 1973. After graduation, Deda worked for the IHS and then left South Dakota and moved to Utah, where she met Lamo Orozco. They were married in 1981. They moved back to South Dakota in 1982 and Deda went to work for the BIA, where she had attained the position of Realty Officer. She was well respected in her field and a mentor to many.
Deda's greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to gather all of them and have cookouts. The family Bingo game on Sundays and gathering everyone for the program, The Bachelor, while sampling the variety of treats that everyone brought were two things she looked forward to every week on her way to Greenwood where they were held.
Eternally grateful for sharing her life are her children: Jody, of South Sioux City, NE, Kelly (Julio) of Greenwood, Aristeo & Alicia of Wagner; grandchildren: Alejandro, Riley, Maggie Mae, Ava, and Orlanda; siblings: Casper and Carol of Wagner and John of Greenwood; aunts and uncles: Priscilla (Don) of Omaha, Karen & Helen of Wagner, and Stanton, of Greenwood.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Sr. & Madonna; siblings: Cheryl, Raymond Jr. (son), grandson; Osama Ray Amer.
She will be truly missed by her children, grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and colleagues.
