Donna McBride, 76, of Lake Andes

Donna died Monday, May 3, 2021 at the Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Wake services will begin at 7 PM on Wednesday and Thursday at the White Swan Community Center in Lake Andes. Funeral services are 1 PM, Friday, May 7, 2021 at the White Swan Community Center. Burial is in the Greenwood Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Greenwood.

Donna was born January 21, 1945 in Wagner, SD to Morris McBride and Mae "Chubby" Drapeau-McBride. She died Monday, May 3, 2021 at the Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls.

She grew up in Greenwood, SD and attended St. Paul's Indian Mission in Marty. She later received her GED. Through the union with Henry "Jim" James, Donna had her only daughter, Sophia. She spent most of her life working various jobs with children. Donna presently resided in Lake Andes.

Donna was a very crazy, loving, one of a kind type of lady with a unique sense of humor. She loved her family very much, even though she could never remember the names of anyone. Donna's favorite hobbies were Scrabble, Yahtzee, Bingo and Contract Rummy, the game she claimed to invent.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Sophia of Lake Andes; grandchildren: Shanda, Chaz and Larissa; and four great-grandchildren; three sisters: Carol (Roger) Trudell, Gloria Rave, Susie (Hilario) Rojas, all of Santee, NE.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; life companion, Larry Dean; brothers: Kenneth "Peanuts", Harold, J.R., Gerald and sister, Sharon.
