Earl Mundt, 86, of Wagner
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at the Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner. Burial is in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, rural Wagner. Visitation is Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
Earl LeRoy Mundt was born in Wagner, SD on August 10, 1925, the son of Henry and Johanna (Hines) Mundt. He entered into eternity on December 31, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Society in Wagner at the age of 86.
Earl was baptized on September 6, 1925 and confirmed on May 19, 1940 at St. John Lutheran Church in Wagner. On August 25, 1951 Earl married Reta Mae Justice. Reta died March 13, 1992.
Earl worked as a mechanic in Wagner and then farmed southwest of Wagner for 49 years, retiring in 2000.
Among those that survive and gratefully shared his life are two sisters: Darlene and husband Gerhard Schamber and June Schamber, both of Freeman, SD; special friend, Phyllis Hubner of Avon, SD; 16 nieces and nephews; and many good neighbors and friends in the Wagner area.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents; wife Reta; one brother, Donald; three sisters: Irene Doty; Dorothy Mc Farland; and Elsie Hall; and one nephew, Charles Schamber.
