Edward Redlightning, Jr, 41 of Sioux Falls

Funeral services are 10 AM, Monday, April 14, 2025at the Marty Community Center in Marty. Burial is in the Redlightning Cemetery, rural Marty. Wake services will begin Friday and be held each night at 7 PM at the Marty Community Center.

Edward Alexander Red Lightning, Jr. was born at Wagner Community Hospital on April 11, 1983 to Edward Red Lightning, Sr. And Eloise Drapeaux. He died Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Ava's House in Sioux Falls.

Edward grew up in the early years in Marty. He was raised by Big Ed and his grandmother, Estelle Red Lightning.

He had a love of games like Rummy, Spades, Yahtzee, Backgammon, Poker, you name it, he played it. His love for sports was the same. Football, basketball, wrestling and track and field. He loved the Green Bay Packers. He had Packers stuff up the yin yang. He was also South Dakota's 1st UFC Heavyweight Champion and an MMA fighter for 5 years.

He is survived by his wife, Anastasia Red Lightning; sons: GiGi, Ed the third, Bennie; and daughters: Layla, Kristina and Sophena.

He is at rest with his paternal grandfather, Orville Luther Red Lightning.
