Eldoth Crawford, 82, of Greenwood
Eldoth died Friday, October 16, 2015 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner. Funeral services were 10 AM, Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at the National Guard Armory in Wagner. Burial was in the Holy Fellowship Episcopal Cemetery in Greenwood. Wake services were held Sunday at the Armory. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.
Eldoth Louise Cooke was born to Emma Huapapi and Peter Cooke, Sr. at Greenwood, SD. She has six brothers and three sisters: Joseph Cooke Sr., Virgil Cooke Sr., Francis Cooke (deceased), Peter Cooke Jr. (deceased), John Cooke Sr., Guy Cooke Sr., Faith (deceased), Doris Jean (deceased) and Dorothy Jane (deceased). She had no children of her own but many step and adopted children.
She adopted two girls, Shannon Phelps of Brookings and Kristen Leroy of Rosebud, also Mary Stotz of Lake Andes and Doris Cooke of Greenwood. She worked for Marty Indian School for many years as a Dorm Parent up until she retired, she became ill over 20 months ago and needed assisted care at Lake Andes Health Care Center. She was active in all activities, bingo, church and received medals for Senior games. She enjoyed having all children around, loved them all big, medium, small and she also loved her dogs.
