Eleanor M. Carda 78 of Wagner
Eleanor Marie Carda, daughter of Louis and Georgina (Pobuda) Carda, was born December 4, 1930 at Ravinia, SD. She died January 15, 2009 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner, SD. Eleanor attained the age of 78 years, one month and seven days.
Eleanor attended grade school at Ravinia through the seventh grade. She finished her education and graduated from Wagner High School in 1948. Eleanor then attended Southern State Teachers' College in Springfield where she received her Bachelor's Degree. She taught at Ree 61 Country School south of Wagner and at Rosebud for several years. Eleanor began her teaching career as a sixth grade teacher at the Wagner School District in the Fall of 1969, retiring in 1988. She loved teaching and always commented on how much she missed the children.
Eleanor was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Wagner, Altar Society, SDEA and NEA.
Eleanor enjoyed gardening and always had a beautiful garden.
Thankful for having shared her life are her two brothers: Lloyd of Denver and Steven and wife Shirley of Hobbs, NM; twin sister, Evelyn Carda of Wagner; sister-in-law, Vivian Jasper Carda; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Leonard and Loyson; and Lloyd's wife, Viola Thaler Carda.
Services for Eleanor will be held at a later date.
