Elias Hopkins, 14, of Sioux Falls

Elias died Thursday, April 9, 2026 at his home in Sioux Falls, the result of an accident. Wake services are being held at 7 PM on Sunday and Monday at the White Swan Community Center in Lake Andes. Wake will continue at the Robert Abdo residence on Tuesday with final viewing Wednesday morning, April 15, 2026, at the Abdo residence followed by burial at 10 AM at St. Philip’s Episcopal Cemetery in Lake Andes.

Elias Joseph Armand Hopkins was born October 25, 2011, to his loving parents Joseph Hopkins and Brittany Abdo in Yankton, South Dakota. Elias was a handsome funny young man who loved to laugh and would bring joy into any room he stepped in. He loved going over to his Auntie Amber’s to hang out with his Uncle Skyler and his good friend/brother Joshua Good Shield. He was always with his sister Emma and cousins Cree and Laiyla Archambeau. He was always a joy to be around and would brighten anyone’s day with his jokes. He loved his family and friends, and cared deeply about them. Even though he left this world too soon, we will always remember his goofy smile and crazy personality.

Elias was preceded in death by his brother Eric James, cousin Raymond Dion, auntie Connie Joy, nephews EJ and Ivonne, grandmother Caroline Dion, grandfather Larry Abdo Sr., and many other relatives. He also leaves behind his mother Brittany Abdo, his father Joseph Hopkins, sisters Emma Hopkins and Erin Adbo, brothers Shane and Samuel Hopkins, grandfathers Robert Adbo Sr., and Armand Hopkins Jr., grandmothers Debra Mitchell and Amber Boyd, along with lots of uncles, aunties, cousins, and friends.
