Elizabeth Louise Bruguier, 63, of Marty


Elizabeth died Friday, September 6, 2024 at Wagner Community Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 1 PM, Monday, September 9, 2024 at the Marty Community Center. Burial will be in the Holy Fellowship Episcopal Cemetery, rural Greenwood. Wake services will begin Saturday, September 7, at the Marty Community Center.

Elizabeth Louise Bruguier was born in Wagner, SD on September 24, 1960 to her parents Melvin Bruguier Sr. and Evangeline Lorraine (LeClaire) Bruguier.

Liz gave birth to three sons: Gary Bruguier, Raymond Jackson, and David Jackson.

Liz enjoyed singing, dancing, and going to the casino.

Elizabeth lived most of her life in Minneapolis, MN. She attended Phillip Jr. and South Side High where she graduated.

She moved to Marty, SD. She worked as a home health care aid and she also worked at the Fort Randall Casino and the Travel Plaza.

She loved her boys and grandchildren with all her heart. She loved when grandkids would stop by to check on her. She was affectionately called the Candy Lady. She also loved her cat Sally very much.

Liz met Gary Jackson and had 3 sons with him. She later met Rob Roy and they married in 1993. They shared a good life together and they remained good friends. She later met Joseph Henry, who she lived and loved with all her heart up to the day she passed.

Elizabeth began her journey to the spirit world on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Wagner Community Memorial Hospital.

Elizabeth is survived by her children: Gary, Raymond, and David; 14 grandchildren; sisters: Melissa Bruguier, Kathy Bruguier, and Tammy Bruguier; brothers Stuart Bruguier and Ambrose Bruguier.

Liz was preceded in death by her parents Melvin and Evangeline; brothers: Melvin Bruguier, Morris Bruguier, John Bruguier, and David Bruguier; sisters: Julia Bruguier, Ruth Bruguier, Anita Packard, and Marcella Bruguier.

All that knew Liz knew that she was an awesome daughter, mother, aunt, sister, and grandma. She helped raise a lot of her nephews and nieces whom she loved very much. She always helped everyone she could. She loved to visit and visit. She will definitely be missed and loved by everyone she knew. WE WILL MISS YOU Elizabeth Henry Son.
