Emeline Fullmer, 90 of Wagner

Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Thursday, March 5, 2009 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Wagner, SD, with burial in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be at the Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner from 11 am to 5 pm Wednesday, followed by a 7 pm Rosary/Wake Service at the church.

Emeline Ella Fullmer, daughter of Emil and Mary (Kocmick) Burgr, was born July 22, 1918 in Wagner, SD. She died Sunday, March 1, 2009 at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD. Emeline attained the age of 90 years, seven months and eight days.

Emeline attended country school through the eighth grade and graduated from Wagner High School in 1936. She attended cosmetology school in Omaha, NE.

Emeline married Pershing F. Fullmer in Omaha, NE on January 7, 1939. Two children were born to their union. They lived in Omaha for a few years before moving to South Dakota. They farmed south of Dante for ten years and then moved into Wagner. Emeline was a clerk at James Drug and Buches and also worked at the Super 8 Motel. Earlier in her career, she worked at the Old Home Bakery in Rapid City and also went to Palo Alto, CA where she ran a bar. Pershing died March 16, 1991. Emeline entered the Good Samaritan Society in Wagner in August of 2008.

For more than 50 years, Emeline was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Altar Society in Wagner, and a life-long member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Wagner.

Prior to Emeline's ill health, she enjoyed cooking, crocheting, doing puzzles, playing cards and bingo with the ladies, going to church and watching her great grandchildren grow.

Thankful for having shared her life are her daughter Sharon Cihak and husband, Larry of Wagner; son Jerry of Piedmont;five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; one brother, Lademier and wife, Jackie of Rapid City; two sisters: Rose Bourgeois and husband, Russell of Dallas, TX and Clara Parker of Houston, TX; and many nieces and nephews.

Emeline was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and sister, Dorothy Caton.
