Eugene C. Stead, Jr., 55, of Lake Andes

Eugene died Friday, November 17, 2017 at his home in Lake Andes. Funeral services are 2 PM, Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the White Swan Community Center in Lake Andes. Burial is in St. Phillip's Episcopal Cemetery, Lake Andes. Wake services began Sunday at the Community Center.

Eugene C. Stead, Jr. was born September 25, 1962 in Wagner, SD. He graduated from Andes Central High School in 1981. He soon after joined the National Guard. After completing his training, Eugene attended Mitchell Vo-Tech, where he graduated with training to be a power line-man.

Eugene was a very protective, loving, caring man who watched over everybody. He was always willing to help where he could and he had the biggest heart and smile to match. He loved being a protector of his people. He will be missed by many.

Eugene is survived by his mother and father (Roger and Donna Houseman); one big sis (Jamie); four brothers: (Larry, Ron, Waylon & Rog); four children: (Brian, Jordan, Haylee & Halston); and many nieces, nephews & grandchildren.

Eugene proceeds into eternal life, joining his other big sister (Brenda), his grandparents (Delmar & Vivian), and many uncles and aunts.
