Eva Goff, 91, of Wagner
Eva died Sunday, June 14, 2009 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner, SD. Funeral services are 10:30 AM, Friday, June 19, 2009 at the Wagner Community Church in Wagner. Burial is at 4 PM at the Union State Line Cemetery in rural Estherville. Visitation will be from 9 AM until service time at the church on Friday. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner is in charge of arrangements.
Eva Margarete Thompson Goff was born September 5, 1917 at Elgin, NE, the daughter of John and Mary (Kohl) Gronau. Her family moved to South Dakota when she was a small child. She married Harlan Thompson in 1935. They lived in South Dakota for a few years then moved to a farm near Jackson, MN. They had two sons. Harlan passed away on December 13, 1961 and in 1965 she married Floyd Goff. They lived for a few years on a farm then moved to Estherville, IA. Eva was employed there at a chicken factory for seven years. Floyd passed away on January 16, 1990. She kept living there until September of 2001, when she moved to Wagner, SD to be near her son, Harlow.
Thankful for having shared her life are her son, Harlow and wife Flor of Wagner, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Eva was preceded in death by her two husbands, son Gene, parents, five brothers and four sisters.
