Francis "Fritz" Van Duysen, 90, of Wagner

Fritz died Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at his home in rural Wagner. Private family services are being held. Burial is in the Friedensberg Cemetery, rural Avon.

Frances "Fritz" VanDuysen was born March 6, 1927 at Tyndall, SD, the son of Casey and Bessie (Boschma) VanDuysen. He died Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at his home in rural Wagner. Fritz attained the age of 90 years, nine months and 13 days.

Fritz was united in marriage to Danelda Lippert on March 26, 1957 at the Baptist Church in Avon. Three sons were born to this union: Mark, Murlen and Michael (deceased).

Fritz was a rancher and cattleman his entire life, raising Hereford and Black Angus cattle.

Fritz loved to sing and he sang with his wife Danelda for 60 years, accompanied by his sister, Rachel. He also sang in a mixed quartet. He also was active in the church, serving as a Sunday School teacher, superintendent and youth leader.

Thankful for having shared his life are his wife of 60 years, Danelda of Wagner; two sons, Mark (Joanie) VanDuysen and Murlen (Sandy) VanDuysen all of Wagner; daughter-in-law Lori VanDuysen of Wagner; grandchildren: Jackie (Travis) Beeson and their children Summer, Shada and Jaylen, Jody (Brock) Foxhoven and their children Tuff, Ellie and Maci, Jason (Jackie) VanDuysen and their children, Casey and Kendra, Travis (Sara) VanDuysen and their children, Taylor, Dodge and Caden, Tyler (Sereana) VanDuysen and their children, Remington, Oakleigh and Stetson; Mike (Brea) VanDuysen and their children, Raelynn, Josie and Michael III, Sharla, Melissa, Marshall and Morgan VanDuysen; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Fritz was preceded in death by his son Michael, grandson Casey, parents, brother John VanDuysen and sisters, Josephine and Rachel VanDuysen.
