Gail J. Bartunek, 65 of Wagner and formerly of Yankton

Her funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner, with burial in the ZCBJ Cemetery, rural Wagner. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday from 3 to 5 p.m. and Tuesday from 11:30 to the time of the service.

Gail June Bartunek, daughter of Alfred and Suzanne (Ferguson) Bartunek, was born November 25, 1952 at Wagner. She died Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society in Wagner. Gail attained the age of 65 years, one month and 14 days.

Gail attended Myrtle Country School, rural Avon, through the eighth grade. She lived in Wagner until 2002 and babysat her sisters Peggy and Penny's children until they went to school. In 2002 she moved to Yankton. Gail had a very busy life there and she was always on the go. Throughout her life, she worked at the Wagner Pork Plant, Pizza Hut and most recently Fox Run Golf Course for several years. Gail took several different kinds of classes from Art to Archery and everything else that interested her.

Gail was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Yankton on July 24, 2016. She faithfully attended services there.

Gail will be remembered for her enjoyment of painting (and art of any kind), bowling, archery and beading. She loved Diet Pepsi. Gail also enjoyed traveling to the Black Hills, Dolly World in Tennessee, Branson, MO, the Mall of America, going to Pierre with her paintings and several vacations in South Dakota.

Thankful for having shared her life are her parents of Wagner; three sisters: Penny (Rick) Marshall and Rose Bartunek, all of Wagner; and Peggy (Kenny) Avant, of Avon; six nieces and nephews: Gary Bartunek of Huron, Brad Bartunek of Redfield; Megan Avant (Seth DeSchepper) of Sioux Falls; Brett (Melissa) Avant of Avon; Drew Avant (McKenzie Warne) of Sioux Falls, and Jessica Avant of Avon.

Gail was preceded in death by her grandparents: Charles and Lillie Bartunek and Fred and Elise Ferguson.
