Garrett Keith Drapeaux was born June 16, 1975. He lived on the Yankton Sioux reservation his entire life.
Garret was loved dearly. He was always with a friend or family member throughout his entire life. He loved to camp and fish, as well as cook. He was the chef at all camping and fishing trips.
In August of 2014, Garrett was diagnosed with a type of skin cancer that grew on the inside of his mouth. We are sad to say, even though he completed his chemo and radiation treatments, he was taken from us due to a sudden heart attack. Garrett died peacefully in sleep and started his journey home on January 21, 2015.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Mae Drapeaux, his 4 brothers: Bobby John Pletka, Edward Joseph Pletka, Mark Alexander Pletka and Michael James Pletka; grandparents: Herbert and Helena Cook, Fred and Jeannette Drapeaux; his aunts: Marion Grace Drapeaux Weston and Roberta (Birdie) Drapeaux Ketcheshno; and his uncles Andrew Drapeaux and Herbert William Warr Cook (Sonny).
