Obituary
A private family Memorial Mass was held at St. Paul Catholic Church in Marty.
Gaylene Marion Kuca, daughter of Paul "Jack" and Florence (Sexton) Morrow, was born September 1, 1938 at Wessington, SD. She died Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the Wagner Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner, surrounded by her family, after a valiant fight with cancer. Gaylene had attained the age of 75 years, four months and four days.
Gaylene graduated from Ravinia High School in 1956. She married Robert Kuca on July 16, 1957 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Wagner. Three children were blessed to their union: Julie, Brian and Patsy.
Gaylene was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church and Altar Society in Dante.
Gaylene worked for 40 years at the Commercial State Bank in the bookkeeping department.
Gaylene will be remembered for her love of decorating for every holiday, her Sunday morning breakfasts, her enjoyment of raising flowers and her love of food. She will most be remembered for her love of her children and grandchildren. Gaylene was always faithful in attending her grandchildren's athletic events.
Thankful for having shared her life are her children: Julie and husband Jeff Doom of Wagner; Brian and wife Doreen of Dante; and Patsy and husband John Hill of Woodbury, MN; six grandchildren: Jenalee Doom, Jilanne Doom, Jessa Doom, Brett Kuca, Chris Kuca and Ali Kuca; sister, Mary Ann and husband Elden Ridgway of Wagner; many relatives and friends; and grand cat, Dakota Hill.
Gaylene was preceded in death by her husband on January 1, 2011, her parents and countless loved ones.
