George W. Larson, 80 of Wagner

George William Larson, son of Marvin and Mabel (Lagg) Larson, was born July 31, 1936 at Custer, SD. He died Monday, May 8, 2017 at his home in Wagner, SD, after a two year battle with cancer. George attained the age of 80 years, nine months and nine days.

George's family moved to rural Armour, SD, where he attended country school and graduated from Armour High School. George then attended SDSU for two years.

George married Margaret Susan Nelson on December 9, 1956 at Montevideo, MN. Two sons were blessed to their union.

George worked with and managed Coops for 10 years. He started a feed, seed and propane business in Bassett, NE in 1974, which he ran for 18 years. George and Sue moved to Wagner, SD, where he continued his pest control business, traveling in Nebraska and South Dakota.

George was a member of N.R. A., Lions, Chamber of Commerce, Fair Board in Nebraska and the Old Iron Organization in Delmont.

George will be remembered for his love of his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and other family members. He loved to take them hunting and tell them hunting stories. George loved the Black Hills, spending time with friends and camping there.

Thankful for having shared his life are his wife Sue of Wagner; son Warren and wife Roxanne (Morton) Larson of Pittsburgh, PA; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a brother Jay and wife Judy of Mitchell; and other relatives and friends.

George was preceded in death by his son, Bill; parents and grandparents.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
