George Felix Patterson, 48, was born to Wilmer Elmer Patterson, Sr. and Maria Ann (Crazy Bull) in Chamberlain, SD. He died Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral services are 10 AM, Thursday, November 21, 2024 at the Lower Brule Community Center in Lower Brule. Wake services will be Wednesday at the Lower Brule Community Center. Burial is in Hill Church Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Dante.
George attended Lower Brule Day School, Marty Indian School, Marty, SD and graduated at the top of his class as Valedictorian in 1994 from Lower Brule High School; and spent the next few years attending college at South Dakota School of Mines & Technology in Rapid City, SD.
George was employed as a Chef in Aurora, CO; Turkey Plant in Alpena, SD; Golden Buffalo Casino, Guadalajara Family Mexican Restaurant, and most recently employed with Walmart of Pierre, as a Greeter. He enjoyed spending time with his two sons. He loved cooking for his family.
We take comfort in knowing he is now in heaven embracing our loved ones who have gone on before us.
George is survived by his sons, Luta and Silas Patterson of Pierre, SD, and siblings: David George Pretty Sounding Flute (Anita) of Lower Brule, SD, Amelia Felicia of Chamberlain, Teresa Estes of North Pole, AK, Rolanda Felicia, Fairbanks, AK, Kenna Felicia of Lower Brule, SD, Wilhelmena Patterson of Lower Brule, SD, and Corwin Patterson of Lower Brule, SD.
George was preceded in death by his parents Wilmer E. Patterson, Sr. and Maria Ann (Crazy Bull); siblings: Lakota Ann aka Patricia Gott and Wilmer E. Patterson, Jr., Roland K. Felica, Celia A. Patterson and a dear friend Luta. George has left behind many extended family members, friends and loved ones, including close friends in the communities of Lower Brule & Fort Thompson.
