Gloria J. Hart, 67, of Sioux Falls

Funeral Services were 1:30 P.M., Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the Ihanktowan Oyate Community Center in Marty. Wake services began Wednesday at the GYM. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Gloria Jean Hart, age 67, a long-time resident of the Sioux Falls area, died Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls after a short illness.

Born on November 16, 1949 in Wagner, SD, Gloria was a member of the Yankton Sioux Tribe and also a resident of Sioux Falls, Iowa City, IA, and Brookings. Her career began with her strong interest in social work, as well as legal services. For many years, she worked for numerous law firms around the Sioux Falls area. She loved country music, laughing with friends and family, and had a wonderful smile that would light up the room. She was blessed with an outstanding sense of humor, an unforgettable laugh, and was loved by all. She will be greatly missed by all of her relatives, friends and all who knew her.

Gloria is survived by her son, Larry Hart of Cedar Rapids, IA; her daughters: Camille Hart and Dove Hart of Sioux Falls, Michelle Volentine of NE; husband Rich Nesje; two brothers: Maynard Heart and Narcisse Heart Jr. of Potato Creek; sister Anita Hart of St. Paul, MN; 21 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents Narcisse Heart Sr. and Phoebe (Standing Buffalo) Kuecker; brother Francis Heart; sister Carole Anne Heart; daughter Janelle Hart; and son Michael Buckanaga.
