Homer C. Archambeau, Jr., 69, of Lake Andes
Homer died unexpectedly on Friday, September 11, 2015 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner. Funeral services were 10 am, Monday, September 14, 2015 at the White Swan Community Center in Lake Andes. Burial was in St. Phillip's Episcopal Cemetery with military honors. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.
Homer Charles Archambeau Jr. was brought into the world to his mother Rose Elaine and father Homer Archambeau Sr. on August 6, 1946 at Wagner IHS. He was brought up living at Archambeau Hill. He journeyed to the happy hunting grounds on September 11, 2015 at his home on Archambeau Hill.
Homer attended school at St. Paul's Indian Mission in Marty, SD. After high school he joined the military, where he served in the Army during the Vienam War. After the military life he returned home and became a Yankton Sioux Tribal police officer for many years.
During his years he enjoyed hunting, fishing, beading, playing darts, making his famous wines and spending time with his grandchildren, nieces, nephews and the rest of his family.
On December 18, 2010 Homer celebrated his love to his wife Brenda and was married at Lake Andes, SD. He was blessed with two daughters, Evelyn and Teresa and one son Ian Long; four grandchildren: Brittany Jo, Ethan, Kobe and Emma.
Homer is survived by his wife Brenda, daughters Evelyn and Teresa; his grandchildren: Brittany, Ethan, Kobe and Emma; his stepchildren; sisters: Shirley, Ellen, Anita, Gayla and Rhea; and three brothers Danny, Wendell and Elgin.
Homer was preceded in death by his parents Rose and Homer; brothers: Loren Sr., Skeeter, Mervin and sister Nancy.
He was loved by many and will be greatly missed!
