"Honeyboy" Jack J. Greger, 74 of Wagner
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the Wagner Community Church in Wagner, with burial in the ZCBJ Cemetery, rural Wagner. Visitation will be Tuesday at the Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner from 2 to 5 p.m., followed by a 7 p.m. prayer service at the church.
Jack J. Greger, "Honeyboy", son of Lester and Blanche (McElry) Greger, was born December 18, 1938 at Wagner, SD. He died peacefully Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Wagner Community Memorial Hospital. Honeyboy attained the age of 74 years, three months and 20 days.
Jack attended school in Wagner. He built a successful business of his own as a Beekeeper, working bees most of his life and loving his work.
Jack married Donna R. Sheldon on January 11, 1985 at Lake Andes, SD. They shared their life together working bees, traveling, cooking and spending time with their friends, family and dogs.
In his spare time, Jack loved to hunt and fish with his buddies. He enjoyed raising chickens and pheasants with his brother Sam. Jack grew a large garden with his wife Donna, which they shared with everyone. He loved watching and feeding birds. He was happy spending time with his grandchildren and watching them grow up. Jack also spent time driving and showing his 1928 Ford Coupe.
Thankful for having shared his life are his wife Donna of Wagner; his children: Jan and Jerry, both of Huntsville, AK and Scott of Gault, CA; step daughters: Jolene Kostal and husband Jim of Tyndall and Lisa Hines and husband Kelly of Big Lake, MN; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild; two brothers: John and wife Lynette of Wagner and Terry and wife Sally of Ft. Myers, FL; one sister, Dorothy Florey and husband Jack of Sparks, NV; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Shirley Harrington, and three brothers: Donald, Ronald and Sam.
