James Larry Cihak, 78, of Wagner
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM, Friday, February 19, 2016 at the Assumption Catholic Church in Dante. Burial is in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, rural Wagner, with Military Honors. Visitation will be Thursday from 1 to 5 PM at the Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner followed by a 7 PM Rosary/Wake Service at the church.
James Larry Cihak was born April 30, 1937 in rural Dante, SD, the son of James A. and Ella (Piroutek) Cihak. He died unexpectedly on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at his home in Wagner.
Larry received his education at Lonetree in Dante. He served in the SD National Guard from 1956 to 1963.
Larry was united in marriage to Sharon Fullmer on February 22, 1960 in Dante. Larry farmed east of Wagner where he raised cattle and Buffalo. He enjoyed over 20 years of retirement.
Larry will be remembered for his love of playing Poker, animals, hunting and watching tv. One thing you didn't mess with was his remote. He also loved going down to Abbys for lunch with his "brothers".
Thankful for having shared his life are his wife Sharon of Wagner; three children: Lori J. and husband Russ Brosz of Parkston, Jeff S. and wife Kathy Cihak of New Castle, CO, and Marsha and husband Mike Johnson of Lake Andes; five grandchildren: Aubrey Brosz, Brittany Brosz, Jace Johnson, Corbin Johnson and Jason Cihak; one great grandson Ivan Scott; two sisters: Shirley Soukup of Lake Andes, Faye and husband Rodney Johnson of Armour; brother-in-law Jerry Fullmer of Piedmont; and several nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, Pershing and Emeline Fullmer; and brother-in-law Lawrence Soukup.
