James Clemens, 79, of Wagner

James died Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at his home in rural Wagner. Memorial services will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Peters Funeral Home in Wagner. Visitation will be the hour prior to services. Inurnment will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, rural Wagner.

James Erwin Clemens was born February 23, 1945 to John and Lillian (Kreeger) Clemens in Wagner, SD. James died March 20, 2024 at his home in rural Wagner. He attended grade and high school at Ravinia Independent School. He graduated in 1964.

He began farming after school and continued until retirement. He loved fishing with his brothers and enjoyed pheasant hunting. He loved his goats, chickens, and rabbits.

James is survived by sister Arlene (Jerry) Bambas of Mitchell; sister-in-law Roberta Clemens of Sioux Falls; brother-in-law Robert Hegdahl of Yankton; brothers Dennis (Barb) and Richard (Linda) Clemens of Wagner; sisters Mary (Don) Peacock of Brookings and Marsha (Allan) Tuschen of Mitchell; and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Kathleen Hegdahl; bother Robert Clemens; maternal and paternal grandparents; 5 uncles; and 3 aunts.
