James Rhode, 88, of Wagner

Jim died Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Society in Wagner. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Tabor, IA.
James D. Rhode was born March 31, 1930 at Tabor, IA, the son of John and Mildred (Chantry) Rhode.
Jim graduated from high school and served in the US Air Force from 1948 to 1952.
He was united in marriage to Virginia Leet in Glenwood, IA in 1953. He was a self employed mechanic from 1952 to 1968 and the service manager at Rasmussen Buick in Council Bluffs, IA from 1969 to 1972. He leased the Lewis and Clark Marina in Yankton from 1972 to 1975. He worked for John A. Conkling Budweiser Distributing from 1975 to 1985. He retired and moved to Pickstown with his special friend Delores Nedved in 1985.
Jim was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #7064 of Tabor, IA. He will be remembered as an avid golfer, hunter and bowler. Jim bowled in 9 ABC National tournaments.
Jim is survived by a sister, Marcia Inman of Tabor, IA and several nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jonathan, sister Harriet Malcom and special friend, Delores Nedved.
