Obituary

Janice Provost, 78, of Wagner

Janice died Friday, May 22, 2026 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner. A Celebration of Janice’s Life will be 1 PM, Friday, May 29, 2026 at the YST South Gym in Wagner. Inurnment will be in Holy Fellowship Episcopal Cemetery in Greenwood. Wake services will be 7 PM Thursday at the South Gym.

Janice Faye provost was born at home in Choteau Creek to Cordelia Rouse and Jesse T. Provost.

Janice graduated from the 8th grade in 1962 and went on to pursue her GED in 1977.

Janice loved to play the piano. For many years, Janice was a foster parent to those in need. Janice treated everyone like her own.

A precious BraveHeart Society matriarch “Her Yellow Horse Winyan” leaves behind powerful teachings and behaviors that need to carry on.

Janice always helped however she could. She held positions on the Elderly Board and Wagner Native American Community Board.

Janice’s dedication and commitment to her community will always be remembered.

Janice is survived by her brother Alvin, her nephews: Ronald and Randal Bohn, Verlin Provost, Dorlan Provost, Mahlon Provost, Elgin Kazena and her niece Annette Kezena; and her hunk daughter Michelle Durant and all her grandchildren, great grandchildren and family too numerous to mention.

Janice was preceded in death by her mother, father, brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews and grandchildren and her partner Orville Milk.
